Fulfilled Messianic Prophecies
Dr. Linda Smallwood, BBS, M.Min., D. Min.

Dr. Peter Stoner, Professor Emeritus at Pasadena College, took just 8 of the Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ; and using the law of compound probabilities, calculated the probability of one man fulfilling all of them. The result was that one man fulfilling only 8 prophecies by chance is 1 in 1017 — that's one chance in 100,000,000,000,000,000.

They then took it further and calculated that one man fulfilling 44 prophecies by chance is just 1 chance in 10157 (that's 1 with 157 zeros!!). Now, realize this: Jesus didn't fulfill just 8 or 44 prophecies; He fulfilled more than 300!!! It is simply IMPOSSIBLE for 44 prophecies to be fulfilled by chance, let alone fulfilling more than 300!!!

Before you pass over or dismiss those numbers too quickly, think about this: The chances of you being struck by lightning at any time during your life are only 1 in 600,000; the chances of you being struck by lightning twice are 1 in 360,000,000,000. Now... look at those numbers again concerning the possibilities of one man in 33 years fulfilling only 44 messianic prophecies. It's a number we don't even have a name for! It's one chance in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
